           In educational administration, leadership plays an important role. This post made effort to explain Leadership as the key priority in the educational system and administration. According to Akumah in Rober and Myers (1954), he tried to differentiate management skills and role from that of leadership. He stated thus:

  Whereas management is intent on outing the works and keeping the plant going, leadership guide direction and propose. People follow leaders-they do not follow managers.           

The foregoing statement tries to explain key functions of leadership which play important role in the educational system. Hence, cannot be done without.             This is one of the most useful tools for creating a forward-looking, student-centered school environment. These are those actions that a principal takes, or delegates to others, to promote growth in student learning.

            According to Douglas (2001) the result of instructional leadership is not confirmed to the classroom and is the objective of all educators.

Educational leadership as a key priority is in many ways the ability to understand the balance that is needed in a school. For an educational system to be successful, it includes the management skills of the leaders which include the use of fact, striking of efficiency, the ordination of available resources as postulated by Akumah (2008)
