Beginners Guide to Book Publishing
Publishing a Book is a wonderful idea that comes with a lot of stress throughout the process. This is why it is necessary to learn the basics and know what it takes before going into it. The ladder to becoming a Bestseller is not quite long but the hurdles in between make it seem a herculean task. You should not be worried about that for now. With knowledge of the process, things would become a whole lot easier. Let’s help you learn the process of getting your Book online first.
I believe this is your Frist attempt, even if it is not, you are still trying to master the art very well so I will want to break it down for you so that you will understand the entire process. I will divide the process into 3 Parts; Pre-Publishing, Publishing and Post-Publishing
Pre-Publishing
Before talking about Publishing, you must understand that it does require a lot of hard work and dedication. It is not enough just dreaming about it, or talking about it, are you ready for the work involved?
The process of Pre-Publishing contains the entire process before publishing. First of all, you must answer the following questions;
Why do I want to Publish a Book?
What exactly do I want to write about?
Do I have enough information about what I want to write about?
The answers to these questions will tell you if you should give up or continue.
The whole idea of writing is to share knowledge, the profit or the remunerations got from it is the reward of the ideas shared so as a beginner, if your major aim is to make a profit as a starter, you might need to have a rethink. While it is very possible to make it with your first publication, the knowledge you want to share should be a priority.
Start by conceptualising the idea of what you want to write about, you can read other materials to add to your wealth of knowledge then you can proceed to write your book.
The next thing to do at this point is to choose a suitable title for your Book. Remember that the title of your Book can determine the reach and attract readers to your Book. This is why you need to choose a Catchy Book Title.
At this point, you now have a Book Manuscript written by you, what you will do next is Hire a Good Book Editor to go through your Book. Be open to numerous changes and observations to be made in the Book and be ready to effect them. With this, you are officially ready to publish. Some persons, especially young writers who might not have enough funds to hire top editors can use people within and around who are knowledgeable enough to go through your Book. These persons help you with their personal thoughts and can still be conducted even before heading for an editor.
Publishing
So many new writers have had lots of difficulties getting their books published. These difficulties emanate from the system as most publishing companies prefer already established authors over upcoming writers. They might decide to reconsider if you will be willing to pay a huge sum to back up your work.
You have a decision to make if you will go with a Publishing company that works with agents or whether you will go into self-publishing. Self Publishing is defined as the art of publishing your work to established platforms without the help of any traditional publishing outfit or agent. The entire publishing process is led by you.
Self-publishing helps you cut off some protocols in traditional publishing. All you need to do is write your book, get an editor and have it looked at, choose a title, design the Book cover, set a suitable format for it, upload the manuscript and then Publish. In traditional publishing, your work will need approval by the company before they will agree to publish your book for you. Also, the process might take a lot of time, so self-publishing is certainly a good idea. It’s still up to you still.
Let us go back to the process, I want to assume you are using the Self-publishing procedure.
At this point, you have your manuscript, you have to choose a good publishing platform like amazon for your Book. It is easier with Amazon; all you have to do is to create an account with them, choose a good format and cover for your Book, follow the prompts and go on to upload your Book on their portal.
