Differences in page location or placement

This refers to differences in the mode of placement between both terms, it includes:

A footnote is a form of a citation issued at the bottom pages of an academic piece. An endnote on the other hand is a form of a citation issued at the end of the academic piece.
A footnote is a constant recurrence in the body of the work or academic piece. This is so because it is situated at the bottom of each page, depending on the length of the academic piece. An endnote on the other hand appears only once in an academic piece, which is after the body of the academic piece is concluded.

This refers to the differences in the content contained and the length of both forms of citation. They include:

A footnote includes only the citations used on that particular page, hence it is a lot briefer, depending on the number of sources cited on that page. An endnote on the other hand includes the list of sources used in the overall paper, depending on the number of sources cited in the work. Hence, it is a lot bulkier and longer than the footnote.
A footnote contains citations because of its brief nature. An endnote on the other hand often includes sources cited as well as additional notes because of its length nature.
A footnote is easier to navigate and understand because of its brief nature. An endnote on the other hand is harder to understand and navigate because of its bulky nature.

A footnote is instituted in an academic piece as a bid to provide short citations for the readers without dividing their attention from the contents of the work. An endnote is instituted in the body of an academic piece with both the intention of giving credit to the authors as well as providing further views to be pondered on by the reader after reading the academic piece.

This refers to the differences imposed on both terms based on their use in the different referencing styles, they include:

Both footnotes and endnotes tend to be supplemented with a bibliography or referencing list page which will include the full citation provided or displayed through both terms. Depending on the citation style used in the composition of the academic piece, however, the specific location of the citations in the bibliography or referencing list may or may not be provided. For example, citations with the Chicago referencing style does not make any provision for the inclusion of a page number of the work cited in the bibliography whereas, it is different in an endnote and different other referencing styles.
